Mama Melissa Foundation offers a number of charitable giving options

Our charter is primarily focused on helping breast cancer sufferers and survivors, alongside the provision of education to disadvantaged children in rural Kenya.

We do this in a number of ways:

Providing volunteers to help with work on the ground in Kenya, such as building additional school classrooms.
Finding sponsors to provide direct financial support to individual Kenyan children, to put them through school and further education.
Financing specific projects in Kenya that match our charter.
Educating people, both in the UK and in Kenya, about breast cancer.
Running fundraising events and activities.
If you would like to help with any of these, please do get in touch
Meanwhile, see below for a couple of examples of how your time and money can help...

New School Classrooms

Mama Melissa Foundation would like to thank you all for your donations towards building a classroom for disabled children at AIC Beram Gachuriri primary school Embu, Kenya.

It is estimated only 1 in 6 children with disabilities in Kenya attend school. AIC Beram Gachuriri is one of the few schools in the area which provides education for children with disabilities.

The school had a class of 16 disabled children; however, they had no suitable facilities and their only option was to teach the children outside under a tree.

With the help of donations, we are pleased to say that the children now have a suitable classroom. Because of this classroom, the school is able to expand their capacity of disabled students.

We still need more funds though, to add further facilities for the children. To do this we need to raise an additional £2,000, so we would appreciate any donations.

Surgical Bra Donations

Mama Melissa Foundations’ founder is a breast cancer survivor who has undergone mastectomy.

As a charity we are aware of the importance of positive body image and the effects it has on your wellbeing.

Mama Melissa Foundation has collaborated with Southmead Hospital, Bristol, United Kingdom in promoting breast cancer awareness as well as promoting positive body image amongst breast cancer patients in rural Kenya by donating surgical bras and prostheses for women breast cancer patients who have undergone a mastectomy.

If you have access to surgical bras or prostheses that are no longer needed, please do get in touch as we are always looking for more.
